What’s The Best Gin For Me?

We find that one of the most common questions we are asked is what’s the best gin for me. While the question really depends on the individual tastes and preferences of a person, we do have some recommendations.

So, we have shared these recommendations below to help you understand what the best gin for you is too.

Beefeater Gin

If you’re looking for a low-cost gin, then Beefeater is a classic. The gin distillery for Beefeater dates back to the 1860’s and it’s seen in many bars, clubs and restaurants across the UK. The price point for this drink makes it an accessible spirit for gin-drinkers all over the world. That said, Beefeater is not a pleasant gin to drink neat, but does work very well in cocktails. Beefeater is flavoured with angelica root and seeds, coriander seeds, juniper, liquorice, almonds, orris root, oranges from Seville and lemon peel. This mixture of flavours makes this gin perfect for long drinks.

Bombay Sapphire Gin

Bombay Sapphire is easily recognised for its blue bottle and it’s likely you will have seen it on display in many bars, pubs and clubs. Bombay Sapphire offers excellent value for money. Although it is one of the newer gins to the market, when compared to Beefeater for example, it’s definitely made a strong name for itself globally. Bombay Sapphire contains ten botanicals. These are sourced from countries covering almost every continent of the world. The flavour of Bombay Sapphire is made up from juniper, almonds, liquorice, cassia bark, coriander, lemon peel, grains of paradise, angelica root, cubeb berries and orris.

Tanqueray Gin

If you are a fan of London dry gins, then Tanqueray should definitely be a gin that you consider. It is a best-selling brand in the UK. While it isn’t an expensive brand, it is consistent in its popularity. Unlike the other gins we have mentioned, Tanqueray keep their botanicals a closely guarded secret. If you are looking for a balanced gin that people will love, without the risk of any unusual or rogue flavours, then Tanqueray is a strong contender. It’s very easy to drink and perfectly balanced too. The best way to serve this gin is with a simple tonic water and a wedge of lime – delicious.

Hendricks Gin

Looking for perfect all-rounder? Then you can’t go far wrong with Hendricks. We honestly believe that it is practically impossible to go wrong with a bottle of Hendricks. It’s certainly a drink that knows how to please its drinkers. While there is a selection of Hendricks gins on the market, the brand favourite is still the original. It offers flavours of rose and cucumber, along with 11 botanicals to create the alluring and distinct tase of Hendricks. Hendricks is available for a reasonable price and is an extremely popular spirit that certainly deserves the fame it has across the UK.

So, these are our favourite four gins; but which will be your favourite? The only way it to try them out yourself; Happy Gin-Drinking!
