Christmas Cocktails

Alcoholic Cocktails

Christmas is arguably the best time of the year in the drink’s stakes. From rich indulgent drinks to party tipples for New Year’s Eve, the sky’s the limit when it comes to what’s acceptable at Christmas.

Everyone has a favourite drink they like to enjoy at Christmas, but it’s always worth discovering some new flavours too. Especially given there’s so much to choose from! Whether you’re entertaining or keeping things simple this year, here’s our guide to Christmas cocktails to inspire your tastebuds this festive season.

Baileys Tiramisu

Baileys Tiramisu Cocktail

Thought you had to head to an overpriced coffee chain to enjoy the sumptuous flavours of tiramisu? Bailey’s have gone one better by creating a self-explanatory but nonetheless incredible Baileys Tiramisu. The best part? You can enjoy it well after Christmas has ended too!

Mix 100ml of strong hot coffee with 2 tbsp of brown sugar and 20g of chopped chocolate. Put the mixture aside, and blend 100ml of Baileys Original Irish Cream with 60g of ladyfinger biscuits and 4 ice cubes (you can use a blender or smoothie maker for this).

Put 120g of mascarpone in a bowl, and add ⅓ of your Bailey’s mixture into it. Whisk until smooth.

Grab 2 martini glasses, and pour in the hot coffee mixture, before adding the Bailey’s mascarpone mix into it on top. Dust with a hint of cocoa powder. Finish with a sprinkle of coffee beans and chocolate shavings.

Glitter Cocktails

What New Year’s Eve party would be complete without a touch of sparkle? Corky’s Glitter Schnapps add glitter as well as a vibrant hue into any cocktail.

Available in blueberrymangopassionfruitraspberrysour apple and sour cherry flavours, you can serve it as a single shot or add to a drink of your choosing.

Corky’s have a fantastic selection of recipes over on their website which are worth giving a try too.

Santa’s Sloe Gin

santas sloe gin

Many regard gin as a beverage that’s solely reserved for the summer months but this simply isn’t true. There’s plenty of ways to enjoy this classic spirit all year round, especially if you switch to a flavoured gin variety instead.

If you haven’t tried sloe gin before, we highly recommend stocking up on a bottle for Christmas. We’ve been reliably informed Santa also likes to indulge in this beverage after finishing his rounds too.

To make a Santa’s Sloe Gin, you’ll need 40ml of sloe gin, freshly squeezed lemon juice, a dash of simple syrup, club soda and a wedge of lemon and a cherry to garnish.

Add all of your ingredients into a cocktail shaker apart from the club soda, and give it a good shake. Strain the mixture into an ice filled highball glass. Top up the glass with the club soda and complete by adding the garnish onto the side of the glass.

Christmas Old Fashioned

Christmas old fashioned whisky cocktail

The world has been enjoying an Old Fashioned since it was first invented back in 1881 in Kentucky. You can put a sizzling Christmas twist on this classic, just by switching up a few ingredients.

You’ll need some cranberry syrup, angostura bitters, sugar, cranberries, an orange wedge and of course, a good quality whisky

Run a drop of syrup around the top of your glass and dip into sugar before starting.

Gently crush a small handful of cranberries and place them in the glass. Add in a measure of whisky and a dash of cranberry syrup. Top up your glass with the angostura bitters and give it a stir.

Garnish with a slice of orange and it’s ready to serve.

Mocktail recipes Christmas

Who said only alcohol drinkers get to have all the fun at Christmas? From teetotalers to teens or even if you’re the designated driver – there’s no reason why you have to miss out just because your tipple is non-alcoholic.

Plus, without any alcohol, you won’t suffer any hangover either, which is always a plus! But even if you are suffering from hang-over, we have a list of remedies to put you back on the right track!

We have lo & no alcohol versions of most drinks – so no matter your reason for not drinking, you can have anything you want!

Holiday Punch

Holiday Punch Cocktail

Add some ice cubes to a pitcher. Pour in 2 parts cranberry juice, 1 part orange juice and 1 part pineapple juice, and give it a stir. Grab a small tumbler glass and a wedge of lime. Run the lime along the top of the glass, and dip the glass in a bowl of sugar. This will give the top of the glass a frosted ‘grown-up’ cocktail look.

Pour in the mixture, and garnish with a thin slice of orange.

P.S: Don’t forget to stock up your soft drinks for Christmas. Whether you serve them on their own or create a cocktail with them, mixers are an essential staple for Christmas!

Candy Cane Martini Mocktail

This is a great one to serve on Christmas Eve before the kids go to bed! You’ll need some candy canes, cream, syrup, vanilla soda and some peppermint oil.

In a cocktail shaker, add a large dollop of rich cream and 350g of vanilla soda, 2tsp of syrup and 2 drops of peppermint oil.

Before shaking the mixture together, prepare your glass. Run some syrup along the top of the glass, and dip the glass into crushed candy canes, which will stick to the surface as a decorative glaze.

Shake the mixture, pour into the glass and watch this pretty tipple come to life.
